Hey, I’m Krystal. If you’re looking for a health coach who obsesses over ingredient labels at the grocery store but eats dessert almost every time she goes out, you might be a little unorthodox. Welcome.
After 15 years in the food & beverage industry, dressing up and eating out has become my favorite hobby. I judge restaurants by their restrooms and dessert menu. Nothing excites me more than discovering a new way to have s’mores.
I believe that you can still have health, even when you don’t want to be perfect or feel like you can’t be because of your limited food options. I also believe that there’s nothing better for health than getting to understand your body.
I’ve learned how to know and appreciate my body: what gives me energy and what makes me feel like a bag of sand; how to eat in a way that keeps me from feeling irritable and tired; how to avoid period cramps which used to have me passing out on the bathroom floor; how to not get kidney stones anymore; how to not be bloated all the time, etc. I’ve learned how to have more energy for my daughter, for my business, and for my quality of life.
Before now, I was carefree and ignorant of my body. When I was 16, my pediatrician prescribed me 100mg of Zoloft, which I took for 3 years (an insane dose for someone only 130lbs). I didn’t really understand what it was that I was taking or why. It didn’t end very well, but it was my first lesson in learning how to listen to my body because my life literally depended on me trusting myself during the withdrawal period.
And then there was post-college, where I had a lot of fun raving multiple times a week, drinking every night after work, and generally just treating my body like I was a temporary roommate instead of a dedicated homeowner.
It wasn’t until I got pregnant that I realized a healthy lifestyle was no longer just an option if I wanted to have a healthy baby. It was absolutely necessary for me and my child. I especially love helping other moms with this now because as parents, our children adopt our lifestyles.
Health can be overwhelming, which is where I come in. I don’t make you restrict what you love; we make it possible for you to enjoy your favorite snacks and rosé on the patio without the fear that you’re ruining your body or being a “bad” person. You get to enjoy life without obsessing over every food choice.
You’ll learn how to eat in a way that will keep you satisfied, full longer, and not craving sweets or caffeine. You’ll strengthen your intuition so decisions are easier. You’ll feel confident knowing how to stay healthy in easy ways that are natural for you and fit with your lifestyle.
The days of restriction and trying to follow strategies that work for others but not for you are over. Health is not one-size-fits all. You deserve to discover exactly what works for you.
