One of my business mentors said you need to start embodying *today* the self-concept needed for the goals you have 4-6 months in the future.
Where you want to go tomorrow requires a new self-concept.
“Self-confidence is the first requisite to great undertakings.” -Samuel Johnson
What you want becomes inevitable when you start aligning your self-concept with the desired “future you.”
How does that person make decisions?
What are their habits?
How do they speak to themself?
How do they walk?
What do they wear?
What do they consume?
How do they respond to life?
Starting a business required a large degree of self-concept (which I didn’t have any of until my late 20’s).
Working with my first few clients took even more self-concept.
And then “showing up” consistently/realizing I actually do have real value to share with people required another level of self-concept.
And now, making a huge pivot in who I serve is taking another massive up-level of my self-concept.
We can’t do anything bigger than what we’re doing now without stronger and stronger levels of self-concept.
If you’re feeling stuck in an area of life, ask yourself a few questions to gauge your self-concept in that area. *Required: Answer with love and compassion.*
Find someone to help you if you can’t work through it on your own. A mentor or coach can be life-changing.
Self-concept is worth growing and watering daily because it’ll make or break your hopes and dreams.
