Screw Rules: Why I Eat When I’m Hungry.

Oct 27, 2023 | Health

After dinner last night I told my bf I was still hungry and he looked at me confused like maybe I’d just been released from jail.

The least fun part of my cycle is close so I’m legit hungry all the time. Sure do love going broke on groceries. ????

Back when I told myself, “Girl calm down, you just ate,” and *wouldn’t* give myself extra toast or fruit after breakfast, or snacks before lunch or dinner, I’d get horrible PMS migraines. The kind that make me go blind.

But when I stop defying nature and just eat when my body wants, I prevent most of the crap that comes with PMS, including the demonic mood I take out on people who don’t deserve it. ????

I’ve also learned not to push myself during my bleed, which for me looks like letting my body sleep extra even if that means losing out on morning work time or letting Liliana watch tv while I snooze like I’m hungover next to her on the sofa.

Because I’m not resisting my body’s needs, my cycle has actually become a time of getting cozy with myself, slowing down to go deep within, and relaxing through the process. Pretty sure that’s how it’s supposed to be. ????

BTW Listening to your body also goes for fads. Just because someone lost 300 pounds on keto and enjoyed every bite of the diet doesn’t mean it’s the only way you can lose weight if keto sounds terrible to you.

When your only rule is to have your own rules, health becomes easy. I’m not saying trash your body on cake and soda for every meal. We’re all adults here.

If you hear the dietician or coach or podcast say never eat after 7pm but at 9pm you’re so hungry it hurts… freakin’ eat something.

It’s your body communicating its needs to you. It loves you. Love it back!! ❤️❤️
