I watched the Jay Shetty interview with Ed Mylette for Ed’s new book. Idk who Ed Mylett is but he looks familiar and is super inspiring.
Jay made the point that greatness doesn’t have to be big.
He has me thinking about my coaching business, helping people better their health and lives. It feels like it has to become this huge grandiose thing, or else that means it didn’t happen, which diminishes the journey.
He’s right. Greatness doesn’t have to be big. Every life I help changes the world.
I think that making greatness so big in our minds keeps us from taking action because it feels so far away. And what if we fail at getting there?
What if greatness is actually accessible to you right now?
What if, right now, being great can be super small? One class at a time. One client at a time. One day at a time. One [fill in the blank] at a time.
“Everyone is born to do something great. Don’t discount your own greatness. You matter.” -Ed Mylett
Ed’s dad was an alcoholic. He wanted to try, one more time, to get sober for Ed. Ed’s dad had a friend in recovery who helped him never drink again. To Ed’s dad, that man was the epitome of greatness.
You get to define greatness. So be great.
